American Sign Language

The Certificate program enhances students' understanding of Deaf culture while developing fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). This program is especially beneficial for students pursuing careers in related fields, including Early Childhood Associate and Nursing.

Students gain access to a rich sign language environment and valuable resources, including the , which provides unique learning opportunities. View the ASL Fact Sheet.

American Sign Language also fulfills Humanities credit requirements. Students can earn credit while developing communication skills through an alternative to traditional History or Art courses.

Hands-on Experience

Students gain practical interpreting skills through an ASL internship. Those pursuing an ASL degree can train with professional interpreters and work directly with Deaf individuals to gain valuable hands-on experience.
