During the last week of April, 2,000 electric cooperative representatives from across the country attended the 2025 NRECA Legislative Conference. This included approximately seventy attendees from cooperatives across the state of »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓÆµ. On Monday, conference attendees heard from NRECA staffers and prominent legislators on the issue suite that was the focus of this year’s conference. They also heard about the importance of making the co-op message heard through their Capitol Hill meetings with legislators or their staff.
»Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓÆµ had a wide range of representatives at the conference which included attendees from twenty-two co-ops across the state. On Tuesday, these attendees met with fourteen Federal legislative offices, including Senator Moreno, Senator Husted, Congressman Dave Taylor, Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Congressman Jim Jordan, Congressman Bob Latta, Congressman Michael Rulli, Congressman Max Miller, Congressman Warren Davidson, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, Congressman Mike Turner, Congressman Troy Balderson, Congressman Dave Joyce, and Congressman Mike Carey. In these meetings, important federal issues were discussed with each legislator, including permitting reform, EPA regulations, RUS electric loans, and FEMA public assistance.Â
