Wind Energy Technician
The Wind Energy Technician program at »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ is an on-campus program where students may complete a one-year certificate or continue their education to earn an Associate in Applied Science degree.
As the first Wind Energy Technician program in North Dakota, »Æ¹Ï¶ÌÊÓƵ prepares students for careers in the growing wind energy industry. Through partnerships with industry leaders, students gain hands-on experience working with wind turbines and the systems used to maintain and repair them. View the Wind Energy Fact Sheet.
Students in the program will learn:
- Safety in the workforce
- Fixing and maintaining wind turbines
- Hands-on experience working on actual turbines
- Working at heights
- Working in confined spaces
Students must be able to climb and have manual dexterity. Wind energy technicians must also be able to work in confined spaces. Work on wind towers may take place indoors or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
